About Send Me An Angel
The Send Me An Angel meme is an exploitable image from Lilo & Stitch featuring Lilo making a wish under a shooting star with her hands clasped in a praying gesture. It is commonly used for wishing, praying, or waiting for something unexpected to appear, with different characters replacing Stitch for ironic punchlines.
The scene comes from the 2002 Disney film Lilo & Stitch, where Lilo wishes for an angel to become her friend, unaware that the “shooting star” is actually Stitch’s ship crashing down. The format became an exploitable meme on Tumblr and Pinterest around late 2018, with artists often redrawing the scene and swapping in different pop culture characters.
