About Sleepytime Tea Bear
The Sleepytime Tea Bear meme, also known as the Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Tea Bear, is an image of a bear wearing a nightcap and gown while sleeping on a green chair. It is commonly used as an exploitable reaction image to express tiredness, sleepiness, or the desire to rest.
The artwork was commissioned by Celestial Seasonings in 1973 and designed by artist Beth Haye for Sleepytime Tea packaging. The bear later became popular as a meme format around 2018, appearing in edits and captions about being tired or exhausted.
