About I’m Tired of Pretending It’s Not
The I’m Tired of Pretending It’s Not meme, also known as Let Me Get This Straight, features Joker admitting to Murray Franklin that he finds the subway murders funny. It is commonly used as a snowclone to express controversial, absurd, or unexpected opinions.
The scene comes from the 2019 film Joker, during an interview between Arthur Fleck and TV host Murray Franklin. The format gained popularity online in late November 2019, with early examples appearing in Spanish-language Facebook groups.
