About Sad SpongeBob
Sad SpongeBob, also known as Spunchbop, is a reaction image featuring SpongeBob with oversized eyes and an exaggerated, tearful expression. It is commonly used for ironic reactions, exaggerated disappointment, awkward situations, and deliberately over-the-top sadness.
The image comes from the SpongeBob SquarePants episode “Christmas Who?,” first aired on December 6, 2000. After Squidward ruins SpongeBob’s hopes for an undersea Christmas, SpongeBob poses for a picture in front of his coral Christmas tree with an exaggerated tearful expression.
