About Shocked Turtle
The Shocked Turtle meme, also known as Surprised Turtle, is a reaction image of Verne from the Over the Hedge video game, showing the turtle looking shocked and confused. It is commonly used to express surprise, confusion, disbelief, or stunned reactions.
The image comes from the 2006 Over the Hedge video game, where Verne briefly appears shocked during the fourth mission, “Caught in the Hedge.” The image began gaining popularity on Twitter and other social media in 2020, while the HUH Twitch emote based on it was popularized by streamer xQc in 2022.
